Chatting About the Future with the Technical Lead of Uber AI

On Friday 1 October, MetaLearners had the pleasure of talking with Michael, technical lead at Uber AI.

Of course, the topics naturally proved stimulating and challenging. We talked about how he got involved in the machine learning community including his educational training. Side point: the number of people who are truly working on AI is small. It’s small enough that everyone knows each other or knows of each other. We also spoke about the current trends in the area and where they could lead. And most importantly, we discussed the impacts of the advancement of AI and how individuals including MetaLearners can be ready to reap the rewards of the future world.

At the end, I welcomed Michael back to speak at our new format of speakers. MetaLearning will be preparing for a slew of speakers in the various formats like a debate, panel, or even Socratic seminar. He is excited to continue his participation in the MetaLearning community.
