Our 4th Speaker of the 2nd Season, A Coronavirus Researcher

I know it was the end of the school year for many of you. Unfortunately, we had a long talk with a friend of mine from university, Ryota Shimada or Yoda. We played IM soccer together on “Team Japan” (I was one of two honorary Gaijin hahaha), and we both longboarded. Currently, he is finishing the PhD portion of his MD/PhD at the University of New Mexico. I do appreciate him taking time to talk to y’all who showed up. We talked about the nature of COVID-19, the conflict between social media+modern environment vs. the ability to reason and critical think, the dynamics of becoming a researcher particularly in the biological sciences, and even the improving capabilities of modern athletes.
